OHCA hosts SoonerRide information forum

The Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) and Carter County Health Department are hosting a community forum in Ardmore on March 3 featuring information about SoonerCare’s non-emergency transportation service, SoonerRide.

SoonerRide, provides transportation to medically necessary services covered by SoonerCare for members who are enrolled in either SoonerCare Choice or Traditional. The forum will provide an opportunity for interested parties to learn more about the benefit, as well as ask questions.

“The OHCA has found that one of the best ways to facilitate two-way conversations between the agency and the community is through our community forums. These forums provide an opportunity to learn about our programs, ask questions and explore opportunities to improve on the needs of the local community,” said Hillary Winn, assistant director of OHCA’s Office of Health Promotion.

The forum will be held from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m., March 3 at the Carter County Health Department, 405 S. Washington, Ardmore. Attendees are asked to complete an online survey in order to reserve a seat. The survey is located at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LTNJCXT

The Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) administers two key health programs for the state. The first is SoonerCare, Oklahoma’s Medicaid program. SoonerCare works to improve the health outcomes of Oklahomans by ensuring that medically necessary benefits and services are responsive to the health care needs of our members. Qualifying Oklahomans include certain low-income children, seniors, the disabled, those being treated for breast or cervical cancer and those seeking family planning services. The second program OHCA operates is Insure Oklahoma, which assists qualifying adults and small business employees in obtaining health care coverage for themselves and their families. OHCA strives to educate and engage our current 800,876 members regarding personal responsibilities for their health services utilization, behaviors, and outcomes in partnership with a state-wide network of 46,313 providers.
