Evans rejoins OHCA

OKLAHOMA CITY – Robert Evans, MD, has rejoined the staff of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) as Senior Medical Director.

He worked for the agency previously as a Medical Director from 2013 to 2015. In the interval, he worked for the Social Security Disability Determination Division as a Medical Consultant.

Evans graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and Chemistry. He also completed coursework at that university for a Master of Science in Biology and Biochemistry. Earning a Master of Education, Adult Education and Instructional Design, from the University of Oklahoma College Of Education, Evans received his MD from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) where he also completed his residency in anesthesiology. While at OUHSC, Evans was named the Chief Resident and received the John L. Plewes Award from the Department of Anesthesiology.

Evans worked in private practice of anesthesiology in Shawnee and the Oklahoma City metro area before he joined the OHCA.

Outside the medical field, Evans has owned a multimedia production company since 1985. He is also a recognized authority on Ojibway (Chippewa) cultural rock painted images in Minnesota and Ontario.
